Welcome

Welcome to my practice. I started Lisa Ades, PhD & Associates, so that I could participate in the meaningful work of helping people navigate life’s challenges, build confidence and restore hope.

My goal is to provide a warm and supportive environment where clients feel safe to explore unresolved issues, vulnerabilities and relational difficulties that interfere with happiness or life satisfaction. I work creatively and collaboratively with my clients and meet each individual and/or couple where they are in their unique journey. I believe it is important to tailor my approach to each client’s individual needs and strengths.

I like to emphasize the importance of increasing self-awareness and compassion so clients can move away from old, unproductive patterns to a place of peace and self-acceptance. I help individuals and couples make connections between their past and their present in order to build a healthier perspective of self and to rid themselves of distorted, maladaptive interpretations.

Talking about your problems with strangers may sound intimidating but group therapy is a powerful and effective therapy modality. The support and encouragement from group members can decrease feelings of isolation and can enhance change and healing.
