My treatment approach is to provide a supportive, non-judgmental environment where clients can develop skills to help manage current stressors and to address deeply rooted issues. I offer feedback and facilitation that can help clients interpret life events and develop insight to better understand and ultimately change behavioral and relational patterns that interfere with happiness. With sensitivity and compassion, I help individuals who feel stuck on a negative path to discover alternative ways of thinking, feeling and behaving in order to bring resolution to a wide range of life challenges and psychological issues.

My hope is that our work together could help you connect more effectively to yourself and with the most important people in your life.

I am a generalist and enjoy working with the range of concerns that people bring to therapy.  I do, however, have a few specific areas of focus in my individual work:

  • Recovery from trauma. I specialize in interpersonal and complex trauma (childhood sexual & physical abuse, childhood neglect, sexual assault and domestic violence). Therapy focuses first on emotional regulation skills, safety, and education about trauma and involves trauma processing later in the therapy process.
  • Successful movement through life transitions. Change can be difficult and/or painful. I help clients smoothly transition into young adulthood, careers, parenthood, and mid-life and help clients grieve inevitable losses.
  • Repair of interpersonal relationships. I specialize in improving communication, increasing empathy and building relational connection. I help clients navigate both personal and professional relationships.
